During a whisky tasting in March 2023 in Lelystad, we met the owners of The Irish Cottage in Oude Niedorp. We went there for Chiara's birthday and it also suited the occasion to say goodbye to friends and family as the day we leave for Ireland is coming closer. Together, we headed to Oude Niedorp and were amazed by the outside as well as the interior. From the outside it looks small but once inside you find yourself in a real Irish Pub/Restaurant. The whole atmosphere exudes Irish life. We were warmly welcomed by Marian Moes, who owns The Irish Cottage together with her husband Paul. Meanwhile I, Sewan, looked my eyes out when I saw the amount of whiskeys. At the cozy round table, surrounded by authentic Irish decorations, you feel completely at ease. Whisky, cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks and a mix of beers, everyone can find their favorite drink. They offer a large menu, but also not too many so that a choice is easy to make. Pleasant and good service.
Highly recommended for those who like sociability, good ambiance, amazing food and a fine glass of whiskey (or something else).
Tijdens een whisky proeverij in maart 2023 te Lelystad, hebben wij kennis gemaakt met de eigenaars van The Irish Cottage in Oude Niedorp. Dit was voor ons een duidelijk signaal waar wij naar toe moesten voor als Chiara jarig was en, tegen die tijd, ons op handen zijnde vertrek naar Ierland. Met een klein gezelschap zijn we naar Oude Niedorp getogen en hebben onze ogen uit gekeken. Van buiten lijkt het klein maar eenmaal binnen waan je jezelf in een echte Ierse Pub/ restaurant. De hele ambiance ademt het Ierse leven uit. Wij werden door Marian Moes hartelijk ontvangen. Ondertussen keek ik, Sewan, mijn ogen uit toen ik de hoeveelheid whisky's zag. Aan de gezellige ronde tafel, omgeven door authentieke Ierse decoratie, voel je je helemaal op je gemak. Whisky, cocktails, non-alcoholische dranken en een mix van bieren, ieder kan wel een passend drankje vinden. Een ruime kaart met gerechten maar ook niet teveel zodat de keuze makkelijk te maken is. Gezellige en goede bediening.
Een echte aanrader voor wie van gezelligheid, goede ambiance, lekker eten houdt en goed glas whisky(of iets anders).
